Between indepth phone conversations (as indepth as you can be with children on each end giggling, then shrieking); forays out into the wide, wild yard to push the grinning toddler on the swing and, later, wash dog poo off his bare feet; and a less-than-calm dinner featuring half-masticated chicken nuggets and a real, live, human milk-spouting fountain right next to me, I concentrated on a puzzle involving the post office and my Pay Pal shipping.
A customer got a package that needed over $3 in additional postage, which is not only embarassing, but also confusing for me, since I weigh each item, pop it all into PayPal’s shipping page and then out pops a label. Oh, and postage is usually just a tad under $2 a package.
I mean, what could be the issue?
Apparently…and this is a good one–the package is too small for delivery confirmation, so it was probably bumped up to Priority. So, I have to ADD bulk to each package to make CHEAPER to ship. Does this make any sense?
I’m sure somewhere there’s a reason, but I’m having a hard time figuring it out right now. Damn you, post office. Damn you.
It’s too bad I lurve your pretty stamps, your nice local postal workers and your free pickup.

I’ve always loved to hate and hate to love the post office! I’m sure there is sense in there somewhere.
