THEME THURSDAY: Summer Fun

July 24th, 2008 · 6 Comments

I’m a little late in posting this, but it’s Theme Thursday at The Land of K.A.  It’s all about summer fun, which we’re having, but I’m posting a picture of something that’s more about the potential of fun.  Meet the draft stage of J’s kick-ball pinatas.  See, his birthday is coming up in a little over a month, and we’re having a party. All the kids are under 4, so instead of having them hit each other with a stick while they try to figure out how to get the candy out of a pinata, I’m doing these.  They double as party decorations–I’ll be hanging them from a tree for the kids to marvel over before the actual kicking commences.  If it all works, I’ll be posting a tutorial in a month or so.  Really, I’m thinking they’re going to be damn beautiful.  Yay.

PS:  Bloggy Givaway week is next week, I believe.  I’m giving away stuff.  Stay tuned!

What a great idea! Please post the tutorial, and let us know how it went. We did the pinata with the strings (one string opens it, but many are there to choose from.) the kids liked it, but I like this idea much better!

    What amazingly vivid colors!
Totally fab idea, too. I grew up with piñata, and have tried to introduce them to my daughter when they’re at a fiesta…she was tapped with a stick in the head, and since then has been afraid to go near them…again, FAB idea & gorgeous photo!
