Playdates! They can happen!

June 18th, 2008 · 11 Comments

I’ve been happily occupied–working, taking care of the J man and, as the title suggests, going on a playdate.

I have to confess: after I complained about it here ad nauseum,  J was invited for a weekly date by our neighbor/sitter AND for another date with the son of a colleague.  That last one won’t start yet, but we’ll be in contact in a few weeks.  Yay!  Today was the first, and although my face is burned and J consumed at least a cup of sand (must watch for worms in stool, yech), it was wonderful.

J was tired, T got some alone time and I got a nap after I put J in bed for his afternoon nap.  I even talked T into putting the piece of tin that was torn off the shed’s roof this winter back in place.  It’s, like, perfect.

AND I sold another bunch of announcements, designed another announcement template and TOOK pictures…just in time for the Thursday Theme: Childhood.

Beautiful shots of little J man! I think eating sand is one of those rites of passage for childhood. ;)

Love the light, and the conversion - the brown really works well in this - he’s such a cute little guy!

I love that tongue! He is so cute, and getting so big. I have no idea how much sand my kiddo has eaten….but a LOT more than a cup!
Aren’t playdates fantastic! We met friends at the water park yesterday and were there over three hours - talk about a worn out kid!
    Love your processing here.

Yippee for the playdate! MAM’s already feeling the need for friends since she’s out of daycare for the summer–she’s calling the stray cat in the neighborhood her friend :) LOVE the photowork too!

What gorgeous photos! I am amazed at people who have the ability to take pictures that aren’t blurred or otherwise slightly ruined!

I find that I have a hard time getting through my day without some sort of playdate — I miss the interaction with other grown-ups too much! And I love the way playdates tire my son out — I always get great naps after we get home!
