…and the rest is history

Kris, this one is about for you.

So, ah, I’m seriously pathetic.  After spending three days either cuddling a feverish J in front of the tube or planted at my school desk, sans students,  I need any excuse for fun mental stimulation.

My college roommate made the unfortunate choice to call me after this very boring, extra long break.  First, I must mention that I’m pathetic at keeping up with my friend relationships.  My roommate was probably my best friend in college, and I really should be making weekly phone calls to her, but I’ve developed a severe phone aversion, so I’m lucky if I make more than one call a week, and that includes to my parents.

Still, I’m always happy to hear from her.  I’m especially happy to hear about her much more exciting life, which includes world travel and, most importantly, dating.  Yep.  Dating.  That thing I never did because I was oblivious to every signal that was ever thrown my way.  Well, aside from that time that T–via phone lines and 250 miles away– guided me through destroying any romantic thought an oh-my-god-this-guy-thinks-we’re-on-a-date, date might have had.

Getting back to my pathetic friendship skills, I might mention that you should never tell an unstimulated me  how to find your new love interest’s MySpace page.  Never.  Now I know his life story since I now have his full name and access to Google.  The guy is even on IMDB.  I mean, wow.  Talk about Googleable.

Now, I’ll never have to talk to you, Kris.  I can just cyberstalk your boyfriend, which is pretty damned freaky now that I think about it.  OK.  I think I’ll back away from the computer.  You can tell when I need adult stimulation.  Maybe I SHOULD call my friends more.
