Check out today’s Best Shot Monday at Picture This!
J’s been sick–violently avoiding the soft flannel I’ve been using to wipe his nose, crying at the drop of a pin, and living in a world of crankiness. Finally, he’s begun to feel better, and I’m starting to hear the room fill with his chatter-babble once again. The sun that is his smile is finally shining through the last remnants of rain.
Oh, and he’s crawling now…everywhere. I’m lazy, though, so instead of stopping him or buying a gate (which for the entrance for the kitchen would cost my newborn, which means I wouldn’t really need a gate in the first place), I often just follow him around, checking that he doesn’t get into places he ought not. It’s interesting–he already loves doing what he shouldn’t do, like wander into the bathroom. I usually do close that door, but yesterday, when he thought I wasn’t looking he crawled his stiff-armed crawl into to bathroom and let out a big noise of jubilation. It was like he’d reached the summit of Mt. Everest, or something. I let him enjoy the moment before I reached down and scooped him up.

Thank goodness he’s on the mend. Cranky babies are no fun.
Now that he’s crawling the fun really begins. There is no such thing as relaxing anymore. I found the easiest way to keep an eye on him is to just sit down with him and play!

Once they realize there is something off-limits, they are instantly and constantly attracted to it. For us, it’s the dog water bowl.

he’s SO CUTE! my son has also just started crawling around but my lazy way is to stay in his room with the door closed and just let him crawl everywhere. he sleeps on a mattress on the floor so there he usually spends a lot of time crawling up and down it.

What a adorable little boy, he is just to cute - what big wonderful eyes. Im “lazy” with the crawling to and just let the kids crawl about and chase them - my daughter always wants to get into the bathroom to (which i hate because it hard tiles)
