Tens songs that never fail to make me sad, mostly because they remind me of times I’d rather forget or are just, plain sad…
- When I See You Smile-Bad English
- Tears in Heaven-Eric Clapton
- Everybody Hurts-REM
- Better Man-Pearl Jam
- I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing-Aerosmith
- Hurt-Nine Inch Nails
- Desperado-Eagles
- Dust in the Wind-Kansas
- Don’t Take the Girl-Tim McGraw (I hate country, but this one, a real tear-jerker, if you’re in the mood)
- Anything, and I mean anything, by Alice in Chains

Patois says:
Oh, yeah, how’d I forget “Everybody Hurts”? I’ve heard “Desperado” too many times to actually cry, but I get it. Nice eclectic list.

Hurt by NIN was covered by Johnny Cash. BOTH renditions bring the waterworks for me!

I think almost all of us will have Tears in Heaven on our lits. Agree with Desperado & Dust in the Wind, haven’t heard of the others.

All of these a great. Why is that the ratio of listening to sad and mellow songs WAY out-ratio’s the listening to peppy and upbeat songs for me?
Man, everybody hurts gets me everytime. Did you see Carrie Underwood sing this on American Idol when she was in Africa? Good stuff….
