I have to say, I love being tagged–it not only helps me fill up an entry, but it also means I get to talk about something simple: me ;)
What were you doing 10 years ago?
Back in the winter of ‘96 I was starting student teaching, driving 40 miles every morning to “teach” for a quarter at a high school–teaching at this point consisted of observing a few classes, sticking around and helping the kidlets jazz up their newspaper and coaching some others for forensics, of all things. Note: I hate almost all kinds of public speaking. Then, I ran back to school to work 40 hours a week at the cake job that fed, clothed and housed me during the time I was supposed to be concentrating all my energy on the teaching. Maybe that’s why I still feel behind when it comes to the teaching thing.
What were you doing 1 year ago?
Pretty much the same thing as now, except more. I was teaching an overload (an extra class over and above the classes I’m normally assigned), doing my first year as yearbook adviser (umm…way hard, believe me), and looking fondly forward to summer.
Five snacks I enjoy:
1. Guacamole and fresh chips
2. Herring (don’t ask…I can’t explain)
3. Hot buttered rum
4. Dill pickles
5. Salsa!
Five songs to which I know all the lyrics
1. Green Pastures - Emmylou Harris
1. Be Yourself - Audioslave
2. Brown Eyed Girl – Van Morrison
3. Hunger Strike - Temple of the Dog
4. La Bamba
5. Sweet Euphoria - Chris Cornell
Five things I would do if I were a millionaire:
1. Get rid of this shack, buy a piece of land on this hill overlooking this gorgeous valley near my house and build an arts and crafts bungalow, complete with plaster and all that wonderful wood.
2. Do the European tour without an itinerary
3. Take a buttload of photography “classes” in v. exotic locations
4. Get a personal trainer and focus a bit on moi
5. Buy T a kickass telescope and all the tools he wants for his fledgling woodshop
Five bad habits:
1. Taking on too much at once
2. Being too nice sometimes
3. Not thinking about the long-term ramifications of my choices ;)
4. Eating too much
5. Exercising only sporadically
Five things I like doing:
1. Talking with T
2. Reading blogs
3. Reading
4. Designing print
5. Photography
Five things I would never wear, buy or get new again:
1. Anything with an appliqued pumpkin on it
2. A Christmas sweater
3. Anything from Walmart unless I absolutely can’t avoid it…
4. Cheap engineered hardwood flooring (yeah. that diamond coating? unless Ike’s nails are harder than diamonds, I think it’s all a lie)
5. Speaking of Ike–another grooming job. Buy a set of clippers and do it yourself, saving both time and cash.
Five favorite toys:
1. Mac G4 (Yup, I’m poor, so no G5, yet)
2. My Lambchop puppet
3. Digi. Rebel
4. Paint brush
5. Graphics tablet
So here’s the deal: Remove the blog in the top spot from the following list and bump everyone up one place. Then add your blog to the bottom slot
from maternity to madness
cityslicker mom
a la carter
afrindiemum
…and the rest is history
Then select five people to tag:

Avonlea says:
I’ve got to pass on this tag sweetie, the answers to the first two are too damn sad.
